Music Ed Services

GSCS Band is one of the fastest growing bands in the Diocese of Orlando with the fairly recent addition of a Stage Band.

We currently have three bands:  Beginning Band, Advanced Band, and Stage Band.

Bands

Beginning Band

Beginning Band meets on Monday mornings from 7:00 to 7:45, and Fridays from 3:00 to 4:00 in the Music Room.  Students do not need any band experience to enroll in this class.  We teach these students how to play the instrument of their choice from the very beginning.

Advanced Band

Advanced Band meets on Mondays from 3:00 to 4:00, and Friday mornings from 7:00 to 7:45 in the Music Room.  Students must have one year of Beginning Band, or the equivalent in private instruction, in order to enroll in the Advanced Band.  The Advanced Band plays mainly "concert band" arrangements.

Stage Band

Stage Band meets on Mondays from 4:00 to 5:00 (after Advanced Band).  Entrance is by audition or personal invitation of band director only.  The Stage Band plays contemporary music and includes a rhythm section, a horn line, and vocalists.

General Information

Cost

There is no band tuition fee for Beginning or Advanced Bands, however parents are still responsible for the cost of the instruments.  Our instrument rentals are done through Allegro Music Centre.

Stage Band tuition is $100 per semester.  The first semester covers August through December, and the second semester covers January through May.  Please make checks payable to Brad Hudson.

Coming Events:

Monday, May 23, 2011 - Spring Band Concert in the Family Center 7:00 PM.  Call time is 6:45 PM.  Dress:  white dress shirts, black pants (or skirts), and ties (boys only).

Friday, May 27, 2011 - Stage Band Auditions for the 2011-12 school year in the Music Room at 3PM.
